Well, I didn’t want to start 2023 with an AVOID recommendation, but here we are. HugeDomains. What a bunch of jerks. The image shown is the average HugeDomains salesperson.
So, why am I so annoyed? Well, when I unfortunately let skkra.com expire, their automatic parking software grabbed the domain and parked it. It’s a website no one knows about, no one visits, and which has seen near zero traffic over the last 20 years.
What would you think is an appropriate price for such a domain? $50, maybe? MAYBE? It’s not even remotely worth that. No, Hugedomains has appraised skkra.com at $1800.
I contacted their sales department on the phone, then went back and forth with them via email for an entire afternoon. Despite offering a ridiculous $100 to get the domain back – and being very clear that not only will they never get $1800, but that if they checked their analytics, no one ever goes there, and thus my offer of $100 was far beyond what they should expect to make – they held fast, not budging for less than $1800.
What a bunch of jerkoffs. Those sales people should be fired for idiocy. Well, screw em. We have skkra.net now, the best website ever.
