Yes, this is another Jackie Chan movie, but who we’re actually highlighting here is Benny the Jet. This 1984 film is kick ass from start to finish, but my god, this final fight is beyond iconic.
Benny Urquidez did not have a large film career, but he was a legit insane martial artist. Over 27 years, he amassed a full-contact karate record of 49-1-1 with 35 knockouts. That’s pretty nuts, and says a lot about just how amazing of a fighter this guy truly was.
His speed here can absolutely match Chan, and man does this fight look glorious as a result. The moment where Chan ducks and Benny’s kick flies by with such speed that he extinguishes all the candles?… my god, what a brilliant piece of filmmaking.
If you’ve never seen this before, prepare to be amazed.
