Tony Jaa is incredible. The guy has some of the best acrobatics in modern martial arts cinema, and almost never uses wires. There is something insanely satisfying and exciting about watching someone ACTUALLY perform ridiculous, dangerous, and amazing stunts. You know that that human really did that shit, putting themselves at great personal risk in order to entertain. There is something visceral about it that draws you in and makes it exciting, and today’s CGI garbagefests that tend to pass for action movies don’t compare.
This movie is full of amazing fights, and I may even revisit this later in the month to highlight the awesome capoeira fighter that makes an appearance in this film. But this one may be one of the most entertaining.
Yeah, these people are no match for Jaa. It’s a scene that has Jaa absolutely rip through a ridiculous number of enemies. They’re disposable and each get about 5 seconds of screen time before they’re dispatched.
But man, this is good. Broken bones abound, and each opponent creatively has various bodyparts snapped into pieces. It’s so awesome that it’s almost hilarious.
Enjoy!
