Fighting February: Conclusion

This was a really fun month to do. I’m a fight scene junkie, so getting to rewatch a bunch of action movies and pick out my favorite fight scenes? What a frigging treat!

It’s impossible to pick a favorite out of all of these. Each of these fights as a unique style, tells a different part of a story, etc etc. Seeing how different directors approach fight scenes, and how different fighters play them, is something that never gets old.

People are suffering superhero burnout right now from an endless string of mediocre garbage. Marvel has completely lost its way, and DC was never really good to begin with. They’re both desperately pumping out a nonstop stream of content, vying for every dollar they can squeeze from increasing exhausted consumers.

These superhero movies started out being awesome, but man, they’ve fallen apart. Every film is now a soulless, mindless, bland piece of crap. The action is middling at best, and for the most part, these films are basically demo reels for CGI artists at this point.

I hope that, as these movies continue to loser their dominance at the box office, we’ll see more of a return to traditional action movies. I want more scenes like the things we’ve watched over this past month. Every single movie doesn’t need to be about saving the entire universe. It’s way more impactful for me at this point when the stakes are small and personal. Give me a good action flick about a guy who just needs to get his kidnapped wife back or something. And lets get back to some true action.

Hope you all enjoyed Fighting February.
