MegaDeth has always had to live in the shadow of Metallica, but there is some solid old school metal here.
It’s interesting listening to it now. It’s more just like hard rock at this point. Lots of melodies, lots of singing, prominent bass work, rock drum beats with little double bass. The guitars are fairly straightforward in tone, and sound nothing like the massive, deep sounds you hear on modern metal.
All that said, the composition is still good, and MegaDeth still deserves their place in metal history. I had this album when I was growing up, and found it to be a solid listen. This was probably my favorite song on the album.
