There is something really special about the original Dragon Warrior, which originally came out for Nintendo in 1986. This is one of the absolute earliest turn-based RPGs for the Nintendo, and while it’s extremely basic by today’s standards, it’s still incredibly fun and satisfying to play.
The best part is that it is available on mobile devices now, and it actually translates to these very cleanly. I recently played back through this on mobile whenever I had a few spare minutes, and I had a blast. There is something almost calming about running around and grinding for XP and gold. It’s simple, but it’s fun as hell.
