Following up on yesterday’s recommendation to buy vinyl, I wanted to recommend Electric Dream Records.

EDR combines two of my favorite things: vinyl and synthwave. Everyone knows how amazing synthwave is, and you’ll certainly get plenty of it from me over the coming year. And so I was thrilled to find EDR, a small Chicago-based independent record company dedicated to bringing small batch pressing of new synthwave music to vinyl. It’s the coolest thing ever, and there is no better way to listen to it.
The pressings have all been flawless. The records are perfectly flat with no warping, and I’ve never heard a single skip on any of the records I’ve purchased from EDR. Their track record has been better than some major label pressings I’ve purchased, which unfortunately have a small error in the press, and skip in the same spot every play.
Since this is more of a niche market, pressings can be fairly limited, so I’d recommend checking back often to see what new releases are coming out. I’ve signed up for the mailing list so that I don’t miss anything.
The packaging has all been top tier, often coming with promotional stickers (which I’ve been putting up all over town). The covers are sturdy, the album art is clean and beautiful, and even the record slip covers are often unique with special printing on them.
If you love synthwave and want to pick some up on vinyl, get yourself over to EDR!
